Comment:
80 of my favorite minutes pulled from the enigmatic Will Oldham's early years, focusing only on the "Palace" releases. I compiled this mix last May, but held back on posting it... something about it just felt wrong, but I now realize that it's just incomplete. Another volume needs to be assembled, which will possibly include Mr. Oldham's other monikers, as well. It sort of irks me that I included so much of the self-titled (later titled "Days in the Wake") CD, but as it's one of my very favorite records of all-time, it makes sense.Feedback:
tremendous stuff.
huh ... i spent most of last night in my final (ethically unjustifiable, of course *grin*) downloading spree of spring break, and ended up acquiring no small amount of will oldham in his various guises. i'll probably use this to see if i missed anything stellar, and to find out if my fellow music pirates managed to get the artist attribution right.
But of course, Ms. Samantha. I'm always willing to trade with you. :-)
Fantastic mix, Rob. Look forward to seeing vol. 2.
whoops, there it is. great, great stuff. "you will miss me" is a must too.....
"For the Mekons et al" is one of my two favorite Will Oldham songs (after "West Palm Beach"). :-) Glad you like it, Samantha.
