Comment:

A mix for a friend who sat through a Kevin Smith movie marathon last week. I whipped this up by request, like most of my recent mixes it features movie & TV dialog between songs. Several of the songs were directly inspired by the quotes I wanted to use (i.e. "Lola" follows the "I like to expand my horizons" quote from "Clerks"). Lots of goofy stuff on here, stuff I think she'll find funny, or stuff she just needs to hear. I think she's gonna love it. Oh yeah, the title comes from the Coolstep song "Drugs Make Me Happy."

Coolness! Clerks is like my favorite movie ever. Where'd you find Jay and Silent Bob doing Fat Albert? Good stuff!

The "Fat Albert" thing is on the Dogma special edition DVD in the deleted scenes section. It's wicked funny!

I think you are the only person I've seen use the Anthony Stewart Head version of "Sweet Transvestite." I really love his voice. Too bad he's been left with the role of Giles for the rest of his life. :( Good mix, too!

If that Anthrax "I'm the Man" is the Joe Jackson song, you have mos def assembled the best last-5-tracks I have ever seen. I'm unfamiliar with the Prince song, though I'd be willing to say that the back-9 is equally impresive as a unit. And there are some Tenacious D versions of the Fat Albert Theme song floating around, if you are interested. A-Hey-Hey-Hey....

Leslie - The ASH song is a double in-joke. I used to play Frankenfurter in a Rocky cast, and the friend I made this mix for is Buffy-obsessed. I *love* this version, very slick. His voice *is* wonderful.

Evan - As far as I know, the Anthrax tune is an original. The Prince song is real power-chord-guitar heavy, makes a nice transition in there. I'm particularly pleased with the way this mix finishes out the back side!
