the huddled masses packed in great numbers into the tiny rooms, or huge arenas. Someone elses sweat dripped on them stinging their eyes from the red and blue lights with feverish energy. your music was poured on them. And they drank it like the last drop. you came to them underground quiet like a whisper and you left them beloved. when you sang their arms were raised in the air and they spoke only in tongues. relentlessly they'd stand, unable to breathe from the smoke. and somehow by the end of the show they all felt as though they were part of something, not just witnesses to something greater than themselves, greater than all of us. but really part of the magic you provided. part of you.
