Comment:

Well, the title and idea behind this mix all stemmed from reading the biography of the late, great Simon Jeffes of Penguin Cafe Orchestra fame. The words 'I will tell you things at random' were uttered to him in an incredible and extremely bizarre part-dream/part-hallucination after a severe bout of food poisoning (go to www.penguincafe.com/origins.html, if you haven't already heard it). Basically, this was his inspiration to play music in the experimental, 'random', and some would say groundbreaking, style that he was to adopt. After this enjoyable read, I sat down, picked up a bunch of records that seemed like they might work well together in a random, eclectic kind of way, and I slammed them onto a tape! The only real reason I stuck it on cassette was because I find it a more enjoyable mix-making method. If anyone actually wants a copy, I can do it on cd. Oh, and for Rob Conroy- your cds should be posted this week. Sorry about the delay!

Great stuff. I am also a fan of the late, great Simon Jeffes and the PCO, and was quite sad when I learned he died. Ramdom and eclectic always work well on mixes I think.
