Comment:

First off, no offense to any Hootie fan. The title originated from a conversation with a friend about the merits of 80's "new wave/punk" versus current popular artists (this mix was done in 1996). It's hard to cram an entire decade's worth of song onto a 90 minute tape, so this is not representative of an entire genre or era. Just some personal highlights from a long ago time...

although i personally don't care for Paul Young, this is a very good mix overall. Patti Smith, Lene Lovich, Dept. S, The The, The Smiths and Dead Kennedys are all great.

Swans Way! Yowza. I actually own The Anchor on 45. And When the Wild Calls! What were we thinking?! Good out-of-way choice on TSC, too.

"The Anchor" was a very popular anthem in several Miami clubs. TCS track is my all-time favorite by them. Damn, it used to be so cool to buy 45's, wasn't it?
