Comment:

This is the first of a series of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame discs. Each disc will spotlight one of the members of the R&R HOF, starting with the induction year 1986 and moving towards the present. This is a slow moving series, considering I am making special covers(which I cannot post, due to copyright restrictions) and liner notes. The series starts out with the great Chuck Berry. The man could play guitar and his song structures were innovative. John Lennon said it best when he said that "If we were going to give rock 'n' roll another name, you might call it "Chuck Berry". Absolutely amazing work. The next two discs I am working on are the Sam Cooke disc and Jimmy Yancey, an early influence. The most interesting part of the series will be the non-performers, who will have discs made for/about them anyways. Stay tuned...

I love Chuck Berry. LOVE. Every time I play a guitar solo, I feel like I"m just paraphrasing him. Though I'm not a big fan of the Hall of Fame (due to glaring omissions and dubious entries), the idea for this series (and your first volumes) are very promising. Chuck Berry IS rock and roll.

I just got Chuck Berry's autobiography last night. I'm looking forward to reading it. You just can't hear enough Chuck!

Huh. You beat me to this mix (not the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame idea, which is a great one, btw, but just this mix). This was literally my next single-artist project. Oh well, guess I'll wait awhile. Nice job.
