Comment:

Another tough one but only because I couldn't decide which of his wonderful songs to put on here. There were some tough cuts but I like the disc so far. And I know, I repeated (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons really close to one another BUT the versions are so different and I love the melody and the original fit perfectly where it was so I left it be. It is a shame that Sam died so young because I have a feeling he'd still be viable today, as would Otis Redding. Next in the series will be the Robert Johnson disc, which I haven't even started yet and won't until midweek. So until then, rock out!

NICE! Another mix that I was planning to do sometime... you did a great job. Sam had an amazing voice, coupled with real savvy and a healthy dose of cajones. It's a shame his dark side caught up to him.

Sorry, Rob. I just figured that the king of the single artists mixes needed some healthy competition :) Honestly though, thanks for the feedback. And you're right about his voice. He had such an amazing little range that came out whenever he needed it. He is one of those singers I could listen to even if he was singing a Backstreet Boys song.
