Comment:
Worship them as the Gods they are not or despise them for so many reasons (recent soul-less endeavors and Rivers being a dumb bastard being just two I can think of) I will never bring myself to slander the exquisite offering known as Pinkerton. And I will only slander the Blue Album if I really have to. You will notice the Green Album (i.e. worst CD ever) is not represented in the least. I've held out on posting this for awhile, I mean c'mon, you folks must be pretty tired of Weezer mixes, but I figured maybe if I said some mean things then the Green Album "Tories" would come out of the woodwork and we can start a new Civil War. SO anyway...fuck Hashpipe.Feedback:
fuck dope nose as well.
true holla. it took me several listens to really get into pinkerton, but once i did, i knew it was really something. i listened to the green album at the record store the day it came out, and after only one listen i knew it was a complete piece of shit. it completely goes against everything pinkerton was about. i thought i was listening to another blink182 hybrid. but who knows.. maybe some half-japanese girl will break river's heart and he'll put out something decent again. oh, and great picks.. though i may have included 'falling for you.'
it was among the last two songs cut...i kind of just wanted to put the entire pinkerton album on but hey...couldn't do that
i hear that
hopefully the new weezer album will make the green album look like a different band...
we can only hope and dream but somehow i doubt it...
awesome, as always
i...like rivers. what's so bad about him?
he hates Pinkerton and that's enough for me to hate anybody.
Yes, I heard Rivers dis Pinkerton too. Strange thing to do, dismissing one's own art when it doesn't sell well.
Not that I like the green album that much, but he didn't knock on his own art because it didn't sell well...I imagine the entire Pinkerton experience brings back very strong feelings of rejection being as I was the only person I knew for about three years who actually liked it, let alone bought it...
I just made a weezer mix tape and a majority of the songs were from Pinkerton. I should've just called it Pinkerton. and the green album is my least favorite. I'm currently teetering between Maladroit and Pinkerton.
teeter no more. pinkerton is your man. maladroit is a definite improvement over the more horrible than horribly benign green album, but it isn't a classic as pinkerton is. it's too bad only ultra nerdy weezer nerds appreciate pinkerton's sublime majesty.
I bought Pinkerton the *day* it came out. *grin*
I wrote a scathing review of the green album when it came out but have warmed up to it a bit more this year. Still my least favorite, though. While "Pinkerton" is far and away my fave, I think people need to get over the fact that that's in the past. I think any artist worth their salt keeps reinventing their sound, in whatever way. I'd be bored as all get out if they kept recording "Pinkerton" over and over.
though we discussed this already, the public must know what i said. well here it is public. you're right, they shouldn't recycle the same glory over and over again. they should throw in the towel and give up. i see rivers doing sole stuff in the same vein as a billion other formerly influential frontmen of various rock bands. yes, he's a regular paul westerberg he is. or paul mccartney. i don't know. weezer was good. now i care enough to cringe when i hear their name mentioned. this may make me a hypocrite since my love for them died right about the time they got super-duper popular again, but oddly enough it coincided with their output turning into total garbage. so anyway...yeah, i won't buy their albums anymore, but perhaps i should be more of a man than pushing said hatred on people who are just coming around to the weezer bandwagon. yes, and let us never discuss this again.
I <3 Weezer, I have all there CDs on my computer, all I have to do is make this mix now and see how it is :)
