This was my official mix for the "Burn, Baby Burn!" CD swap among webloggers in April of 2002 (which I organized along with Chris of www.encorswish.com). The only requirement was that the CD should have some sort of summer-esque theme. I had always wanted to do a mix of songs linked only by their titles, so I decided to use the swap as a chance to work on one. The "sun" theme was not only appropriate, but it was also a breeze--I easily found about 30 songs with "sun" (or variations) in the title in the space of about an hour, just by poking through my CDs. I tried to group the songs in a way that allowed for a musical arc (slow to upbeat and back again) as well as a barely-there narrative arc (sunrise to sunset to complete absence of the sun). Not my best mix, but one that I'm proud of nonetheless.
