Comment:
The newest installment in my "severely overlooked/underrated" series. Phenomenal harmonies, incredibly infectious pop songs and a line-up that boasted the stellar Anthony Hicks on guitar and Bobby Elliott on drums. One of the best singles bands of the 60's (who also released one fairly classic album, "Evolution", the same month as "Sgt. Pepper"). And shoot me, I actually *like* "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother".Feedback:
Really lovely stuff, Rob.
One of my favourite singles bands of all time, Rob. Once again, a great mix
I really LOVE the Hollies!
"Evolution" and "Butterfly" are my favourite albums;
songs like 'Stop Right There','The The Heartache Begins'...
are brilliant diamonds!

The Hollies were indeed a great singles band but also released some incredible solid LP's. "Butterfly" and "Evolution" are dazzling. While some may scoff, I think "Moving Finger",(the first post-Nash album) rates high as well. Good job.
Really nice mix Rob, i love their early singles, but i really love the butterfly LP, i miss Pegasus and Postcards on this mix, don't get mad at me!
Thanks, folks. I definitely appreciate the comments, although I'm not as into the "Butterfly" album as some of you are, apparently...
I'm with you, those last two tracks are just as great as the earlier singles. It's a shame that Graham Nash died after this band.
"On a carousel" and "Carrie-Anne" (except for the not-so-good instrumental bridge) are my fave songs.
Excellent job...this looks great!
Love the Hollies, Love the mix! Nice one, Rob.
I just got into the Hollies and I love them...but He Ain't Heavy almost ruined it for me.
oooh....this is a nice one. a very nice one!! funnily enough i tired to say "he ain't heavy he's my brother was a song the other day...and others lead me to believe i was grossly mislead- appears that little song like thing in rosie's head was right!
Somehow I missed this one Rob. Must have been in a coma when you posted this. Anyway, this is great stuff. I only have the Butterfly CD, but would love to hear more. So if you're not getting the hint, please add this to my pile. I heard "When Your Light Turned On" for the first time on a mix tape recently, and it's already one of my all time favorite songs.
