A decade that kicks off with Pink Floyd's scary-good alienation anthem "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)" and closes out with Elvis Costello's momentous collaboration with Paul McCartney, "Veronica," has got to be good. The '80s crammed a lot of great rock in between those two sonic bookends, as U2 planted a landmark with a tune as expansive and inspirational as the great American West on "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," and on "Call Me" Blondie beckoned for a more intimate good time. The Clash unleashed their post-punk classic "Rock the Casbah" and Canadian power trio Rush conjured up their mainstream breakthrough epic, "Tom Sawyer."
