Comment:

Now that you've got the gist of electro's two decade-plus history — you know, lots of queasy drum machines and slippery synth lines — it's time to focus on some of the scene's strongest tracks, the kind of stuff that'd raise the blood pressure of any self-respecting DJ or dancer. "Radioactivity" is Kraftwerk with a steely, late-night sheen; "Jam on It" is the perfect rhyme-chomping accompaniment to "Planet Rock"; Two Lone Swordsmen's "Prodigal Son" remix is liquid lava converted to binary code; and "Tom Tom Beats" is a sunnier, spacier spin on the acid techno excursions of Richie Hawtin, Aphex Twin, and Luke Vibert.
