Despite the combustibility that doomed the girls at the height of their fame, and the [i]Studio 1[/i] comeback album that failed to duplicate earlier triumphs, All Saints had us at their mercy over the course of two great albums overflowing with sex appeal, songwriting smarts, and intelligent cover work. From their sultry version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge" (featuring Richard Hawley on guitar) to the sparkling, William Orbit-produced "Pure Shores" (which appeared on the soundtrack to [i]The Beach[/i]), the group was the very definition of perfect girl pop.
