Comment:

when a friend requested this country and western tape, i was pretty scared. i am by NO means an expert of country music, most of it i don't even like. country music to me...is a bit of an unknown. so, the majority of this tape is probably country crossed with something else. the only way i could work out what i personally thought was country was to picture either a) a stereotypical westerns and or middle of nowhere australian pub or b) a desolate highway with a hitch-hiker, and see whether the song would fit either of those situations for background music...and this is what i came up with! and yes, i realise the first song is absolute crap, but it was so tacky i couldn't resist! also thanks to rob conroy (as usual) for the ryan adams and johnny cash stuff- my dad said i HAD to end on johnny cash. don cowling used to be the physics teacher at school, he's made a couple of tapes which are pretty tacky but pretty damn good and fun at the same time...especially the ones that mention cheese and cabana!! title unrelated, but from "sweet charity", it's a dance hall hostess' pick up line, following "you speak spanish mister?" and just before "ooh...you're sooo tall!"

This looks ace, and a great title too. Johnny Cash is the man. Last month I thought Tom Waits was God, now I think actually it's Mr Cash.

Looks good, Rosie. Yeah, Johnny Cash is god. Some Hank Williams would've fit nicely on here too (and you can probably buy most of his stuff for like 8 bucks each in most record stores - like I did).
