Comment:
As a solo artist, with her band Nine Stories, and in a string of collaborations with the likes of Elizabeth Mitchell (a member of the indie folk/pop band Ida), Dweezil Zappa, and überproducers Glen Ballard and Randy Scruggs, Lisa Loeb became a superstar. The video for "Stay (I Missed You)" introduced her doe-eyed coquettishness and trademark cat's-eye glasses to the world (the song also served as the theme to the hit movie Reality Bites), and her albums Tails and Firecracker were massive sellers. She starred in #1 Single, a quirky dating series on the E! network (with "Single Me Out" as the theme song), and voices characters for cartoons and video games. Yet Loeb's a musician, first and foremost, and a singer-songwriter who's adept at defining and illuminating every little window into the human condition.
