Comment:

One of my students won a contest I ran and the prize was a mix CD in the style of their choosing. He chose punk and I decided that since he is young and in a band, he might want to check out the whole history of punk instead of modern punk. I tried to run the disc as chronologically as possible. Definitely a departure from my usual style of disc, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I used to try to make definitive/essential punk mixes in high school, but the more i learned how vast the genre was, it became more difficult. I think you nailed it. Rad.

Really nice work, with a few surprises (Mano Negra, Radio Birdman). I'm curious to hear what the student thinks of it.

I also like how you split it up into regions and eras. Great mix.

You know, I didn't even realize I did that. I knew I progressed from old to new but not also maintaining the different scenes. Thanks for pointing that out, Joel.
