A great '80s party was an unlikely fusion of hair-gel experimentalism, cheese on sticks . . . and multiple dancing styles. One minute, we had to replicate the New York club moves of Madonna ("Get Into the Groove"), the next we were copying the Nutty steps of Madness ("One Step Beyond"), not to mention the rap-rock posturing of the Beastie Boys and Run-DMC (who hooked up with Aerosmith on "Walk This Way").
