i spend a lot of my afternoons at school in the library, shooting the breeze with my good friend jimmy the librarian. there's a girl named cassie, who is in the grade two below mine, and she always acts really curious when the two of us discuss music and whatnot. jimmy told me that she asked him if there were "any good indie rock shows coming up" and he told her about the bluebird/sparta/jealous sound show that was a few weeks ago. so she went, and then came to school the following monday in a fit of rage. she said "it was sold out, and me and all my friends had to walk several blocks in the freezing cold to get picked up," and with a solemn face she added "...and all the people who were coming in and out of the place looked so cool." well she may have missed that show [i heard it was pretty wack anyway] but it's hardly too late for her to start enjoying the wonders of independent music. so i made her this tape, which i feel is a pretty good document of 90s indie music. i know i started it with a track #1 and ended it with a track #12, but i felt like i needed a real barnstormer to rock her right off the bat. and "precision auto" fit the bill. i hope she enjoys it. and then when we go back to school will approach me and tell me about all the awesome new records she picked up over the break. rock.

Really nice Carlos. Starts off with a great Superchunk song (have you heard the remix?) and never lets up.

Mark Robinson (Teen Beat head honcho, Unrest, Flin Flon, Olympic Death Squad, solo performer) did a remix of that fine song on a single. It's also a hidden track on the last singles compilation the band released four or five years ago.
