Clydebank's kings of blue-eyed soul struck like lightning in 1987 with debut single "Wishing I Was Lucky" and, for a decade, it was uphill from there. Fronted by Marti Pellow, a working-class hero with pin-up looks and a voice that came from somewhere south of the Mason-Dixon line, Wet Wet Wet had the pop charts at their mercy — most notably with the #1 hit that refused to die, "Love Is All Around".
