Roger Waters
Comment:
Roger Waters — the man whose brilliantly twisted imagination gave us giant pigs and reptilian hammer-headed teachers — became Pink Floyd's lyrical genius-in-chief after the departure of Syd Barrett. The nightmarish intensity of his creative vision, a signature of his output with Floyd, showed no sign of diminishing when he went solo: on 1987's concept album Radio K.O.A.S., about a wheelchair-bound activist, he takes on the persona of a man who can look on his children at night, "in the glow of their Donald Duck light/And frighten myself with the thought of my little ones burning" (from "The Tide Is Turning"). Heavy. This selection of his work features legendary live tracks (notably from one of the greatest concerts ever staged, 1990's The Wall – Live in Berlin) and standout album tracks.
