You'd think eleven GRAMMY® nominations and millions of albums sold would be enough to secure any band's place in musical history. But, inexplicably, the Yellowjackets haven't garnered the respect they deserve — except in the minds of their fans and discerning ears within the jazz community. Proving that it's OK to make intelligent music for sophisticated adults, the group's blazed an adventurous, label-defying path, trying on as many new styles and influences as it has members. Sure, the fellas behind the Yellowjackets are musically knowledgeable enough to discuss the "polyrhythms" and "chord inversions" they use to inject unbelievable color into their compositions, but that's not our concern here; what we care about is how the music will makes us [i]feel[/i]. If you're up for some sonic bliss rolling on a sturdy groove, this is the place to find it.
