Comment:

Made this for Sarah, delivered April 7, 2002.
she sent email back to me about it on April 11:

ANALOGUE

1.WEEZER A safe start, but a good song. That's why it's safe! Hah!
2.SUPERCHUNK gets better with wear
3.RFTC has that standard 80s punk sound picture Molly Ringwald kicking her feet
4.NEW FOUND GLORY I think my favorite track off that album is #1 and that has nothing to do with my john cusack obsession I swear
5.THE RENTALS this was on my "April 2001" mix.and many others
6.ALIEN ANT FARM surprising. just goes to show that I should never judge a band by their "hits" the chorus is a little too chipper for my liking, but it's a nice break from the slit-my-wrist sound of the verses
7.D-PLAN hilarious...sad.oh, wait..it's hilarious and so well done that it's sad
8.FOO FOO when this song started I felt like I was taking a breather
9.BRAD mostly I liked the "ah-ah" and "yeah, yeah, yeah" I fucking miss rock out endings-you know a lot louder and better than the rest of the song
10.TOE JAM(jokes, jokes) never dug that whole booming and masculine male lead vocalist thing. i just find that sound very comical, which doesn't mesh since the lyrics are usually centered around some form of torment i used to have one of their albums with some songs i really liked, but it's gone now and i don't know where. i'm going to stop now
11.SOUNDGARDEN (see Track 10.)
12.RADIOHEAD what's not to like?!
13.PUMPKINS(are orange!!!) also a song I know and like.so I have nothing to say
14.PUNK
15.TRIO
16.TIME got me on a Ramones kick and my mom is plotting to kill
17.S.KINNEY so weird. ALSO on my "april 2001" mix. I kid you not

AHINE

1.DANNY SABER dust brothers?
2.BLACK GRAPE sounds like the opening to a movie set in a California high school .we watch as the camera follows behind the "most popular guy in school" who addresses every guy by their last name and never addresses a girl alone, as they are all "ladies."
3.SOUL COUGHING I was wondering when you were going to slip a little SC in
4.LAKE TROUT**** #1 song on the mix. The first couple minutes are repetitive, but I know something else is going to happen.and when it breaks-jesus. It's the kind of song I feel in my chest like when it calms about _ into the song, and I catch myself holding my breathe the final hoorah is butter and when it's done I feel like I need a cigarette
5.BREAKBEAT ERA true to the name hey, I like any tune that stresses the off beats and still holds steady you know, like when it ends I'm not wondering what happened to the past 3 minutes
6.GIRLS AGAINST BOYS is trent reznor fucking the lead singer of prodigy?
7.SPIRITUALIZED and again, a breather I'm definitely going to church this Sunday
8.FATBOY SLIM club motivational where did I put that body glitter anyway?
9.JSBX like the violin. You know what comes to mind? MOTHERFUCKER
10.BRASSY catchy and fun! Like "he's wearing velvet pants"
11. BFF safe ending, but a good song! that's what makes it safe! HAH!
