Comment:
More songs for the Ellen Jamesians to sing. Installment number 3 of the instrumental series. Maybe my fave so far, if for no other reason than the 1-2 punch of the opening tracks. I LOVE "Red River Rock" - who wouldn't?!? Truth be told, half of these songs are so great that they unfortunately obscure the weaker few. Ah well. Thanks much to Buglady for the clean Routers track. By the way, extra bonus points go to anyone who can tell me what show used "Experiment in Terror" as its theme song. The Grandsons of the Pioneers (now just "Grandsons", thanks to a lawsuit from the Sons of the Pioneers - those bastards) are a great roots-rock outfit from D.C. Great live performers and super swell guys. Link Wray kicks ass per usual, and I love that Man or Astroman track. Say, can any of you kids hook me up with "Adios, Johnny Bravo" by MoA? I should also point out that several of these tunes are NOT strictly surf numbers. However, I haven't made an instrumental soul mix yet, so I didn't have a spot for "Sock it to 'em J.B.", or "the In Crowd". Or for that matter, "Soulfinger", which didn't make it to this mix. Now a soul instrumental mix.... that's a capital idea!Feedback:
I'd love to hear Roberta Muldoon lead the Ellen Jamesian choir for their rousing version of "Sleepwalk".
cool stuff
Great funtatic stuff, Sean. Would you pleeze add this to da pile? Sighted any of my stuff yet?
Looks great Sean Add this one to my list as well ;)
Okay, get ready to shell (no pun intended) out those bonus points. The answer is "Chiller Theater" Believe it or not, I was actually listening to Al Caiola on Sue's "Big Star" mix when I clicked on your mix.
Fantastic stuff, Sean.
another knockout, Sean.
yes yes good stuff. makes me wanna stand up and make surfin-esque motions in front of a blue screen with a killer wave projected onto it, like they used to do on 70's tv sitcoms.
Ion is, of course, correct. Chiller Theatre, with Pittsburgh's own Bill Cardille (pre-weatherman status). Actually, I think he was in "Night of the Living Dead", if I'm not mistaken. Pittsburgh is full o' stars.
Wow Sean! This looks great! I love the selections, and The In Crowd is one of my favorite instrumental tracks, ever. Great, great stuff. (p.s. I need this) =)
All your surf comps are great, I love alot of the new surf music to, I'm just more of a rockabilly guy, and my surf collection isn,t that big. Love it though. I love the Flamin' Groovies and Big Star to . Do you get any records from Norton records by any chance , I think they would be right up your alley
i'll trade surf mixes too, damn!
