Comment:

It's more than just a bar; it's a proving ground, a place where you're either gonna throw some back, have a dance, and find romance, or hold tight to your bottle and your broken dreams, and let your tears flow like whiskey. It's the honky-tonk, and depending on whom you listen to, it's your own little heaven or hell. Country rocker Dwight Yoakam stands firmly on the good-times side of the fence in "Honky Tonk Man," but Johnny Cash sees only sorrow at his local "Home of the Blues." Velvet-voiced Randy Travis takes a load off with his sweetheart under the glow of a "Honky Tonk Moon," but poor Merle Haggard is all out of hope in "The Bottle Let Me Down." Maybe you need just one more drink before you decide which is which, but with our Honky Tonk Essentials, the tunes play on till you've made up your mind.
