Donny Hathaway made breezy look deceptively easy on his duets with Roberta Flack, like the fireplace-starter "For All We Know." At the same time, this soul poet could just as easily reach deep into his own troubled heart to charge his personal vision with the blues and gospel sounds he grew up on.
