Comment:
Ironically this mix does not contain the actual song "Cars That Go Boom". It does, however, contain many other songs about the automobile, with a slant towards the less-obvious and/or rare live stuff.Feedback:
where the hell is "be thankful for whatcha got."
cause you may not drive.... a cadillac
matching sets..of gangsta white walls in the back
you many not have a car at all....but brother and sisters you can still stand tall
" diamond in the back sun, roof top flossing in the scene in the gangsta lean...ooh ooh"
respesctfully
brotherman, culturedose's residential angry negro.

Cool. I love "Bitchin Camaro". But where's "Hot Rod Lincoln"?
very cool concept
Looks like there's gonna have to be a volume 2, then. ;)
Very cool! Sorry I missed it the first time around (the block) Congrats on the coveted mix of the week!
i agree with brotherman... be thankful for whatcha got is a must!
hey Nate,
Great theme!
look up "Always Crashing in the Same Car" (bowie) for volume II.

another suggestion for vol 2. Red Cadillac and a black moustche by Nomads or Warren Smith
There's always Squarepusher's "Red Hot Car"...
Congrats! Love those Who and DK picks. Just to throw my 2 cents in...Crash Car Star by Smashing Pumpkins (been a recent fave ;-)
"Big Black Car" by Big Star. Who's with me?
I'm so sorry for this: For Vol. 2 "Cars" Gary Numan (I love that track)
Very fun mix. "Bitchin' Camaro" is one of my all-time favorite songs. Love the Dead Kennedys pick, too.
I definately agree with DJ Usurp concerning "Big Black Car". Also I personally could never even think of doing a mix on this theme without starting the CD with "Theme from Speed Racer" and ending with "Killer Cars" by Radiohead. Great mix, and there's also a ton of great suggestions people have posted.

there's the demento-style song "The Little Nash Rambler", but then again that doesn't really fit with the more genuine songs on the mix...ehn.
where's Mercury Blues?!?!?!?!?
the Steve Miller Band version though...

Incredible. Excellent choices all, avoiding the hackneyed and obvious. Love the Clash, Elastica, and the Milkmen...
