Comment:
This is for Gair, because the idea arose from a conversation we had during the guitar solos in Freebird (hence its inclusion). The longest songs I could find, within the constraints of the sides of the tape. Honourable mentions go to "The Hunt" by Tony McPhee (nearly half an hour, but I can't find a copy of it), "Xanadu" by Rush (11:11 from "Farewell To Kings"), and "The Dajon Song" by Gomez (13:33).Feedback:
It's probably not your cup of tea, but NOFX's "The Decline" is one of my favorite long songs. It's something like 18 minutes...
In-ter-esting! I remember stopping to buy some jeans in a store when Freebird came on the radio, and I swear it was still on when I came out! You could fill one side of a tape w/either side of Miles Davis' "Black Beauty" (40+), and most of side 2 with any Yes song from Tales Of Topographic Oceans! I actually used these on two of my mixes (Terror Tales and Amazing Stories) where (I think) they're actually listenable.
