French film-score composer Maurice Jarre has proved to be, over a career that has spanned five decades, one of the most versatile and prolific artists in his field, a maestro in both the orchestral and the electronic arena. His breakthrough came with [i]Lawrence of Arabia[/i] (1962), for which he produced a suitably lush and epic sonic landscape, and he would continue to work with director David Lean through to 1984's [i]A Passage to India[/i].

Jarre ditches the orchestra in favour of electronica, in Next Steps.
