South Carolina boy Josh Turner has a voice as deep as a well and warm as a lazy summer afternoon — making it just about perfect for doing what Turner does best — building a bridge between country tradition and the music's here and now. It was 2003 when he broke out with his signature tune, "Long Black Train," a gospel dazzler about living in the light (or, maybe more to the point, what happens when you don't) and took the country world by storm.
