When fire-hydrant-shaped funnyman Allan Sherman fixated on food, the portly punster was truly in his element. Sherman fashioned a full-figured theme song of sorts from Gilbert & Sullivan's "Little Buttercup," cooking up a dieter's lament with "Little Butterball." A meal could even get in the way of making whoopee, when Jewish cuisine collided with amour on "When I'm In the Mood for Love (You're In the Mood for Herring)." When you're ready for the main course, you can hear Sherman really strut his stuff on the tour de force "Shticks of One and a Half Dozen of the Other," in which he reels off a medley of one-line parodies. Warning: you'll forever after hear "down by the riverside" as "don't buy the liverwurst."
