Comment:

Gotta make a pop comp for continued domestic bliss every few mixes. Wasn't my direct intention to make a romantic mix, but seeing as this is our 12th anniversary & love pops up in a few titles here, why not.

Lovely. And I'm sure it's not his first romantic mix, Ryan.

The Flaming Lips track is from their upcoming CD. I recently heard it while record shopping & it's a killer. Despite my begging, they wouldn't sell the promo to me. Like any smart shopper, I headed to audiogalaxy & grabbed it & yes, I will also buy it when it comes out for real on July 13th.

Outstanding mix Lo-Fi. Lots of great choices (Fugu, Witch Hazel, ESG). And to settle a very mild dispute, this is Lo-Fi's first posted romantic mix on AOTM according to my extensive research (hey, I have the day off!). I'm sure he's actually made plenty more, especially after being married for 12 years. Happy anniversary BTW!

Roger Nichols & A Small Circle Of Friends, that's a nice album, once upon a time Saint etienne bought that to the Cardigans, who loved it

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Yes, I've made many crush mixes in my life. I've never been able to depend on my Zappa-esque good looks alone to win girl's hearts.

Happy anniversary, chief. And congrats or inciting another AOTM riot - that's the best part of this site, eh? This looks like a very sweet mix. My wife just gave me shit for not making any mixes for her recently. Sadly, she's not the same fan of surf, garage, and (ahem) prog that I am. We have to agree to disagree about a few things. Fortunately, she love the Kinks and Teenage Fanclub. You can't go wrong with that.

I don't see what "riot" you're referencing, Sean... and congrats, lo-fi, I forgot to mention that before.

Nice mix, I like the inlcusion of Witch Hazel Sound. Though listen closer to Jim O'Rourke's "Therefore I Am." It's definitely not a romantic song (though maybe not quite as scathing as some of the other songs on "Insignificance").
