In its ten-year existence (1981-1991), Talk Talk became one of the most remarkable and influential bands in recent rock history, groomed from the outset for new wave chart glory yet always striving to break the chains of genre . . . a feat gloriously achieved over five contrasting albums. Early singles "Talk Talk" and "Today" were produced by Duran Duran/Howard Jones collaborator Colin Thurston, after which keyboardist Simon Brenner left and unofficial fourth member Tim-Friese Greene arrived. Leap-forward tracks "It's My Life" and "Life's What You Make It" anticipate the move to post-rock sampled within our Next Steps.
