Collaborations - World of Snoop Dogg
Comment:
Sometimes the only thing better than watching Snoop Dogg attack his own tracks is seeing sparks fly as he goes mic-to-mic with some of the game's true heavyweights. Pouncing on six-figure productions like a pit bull on a poodle, he's able to turn a chart-climbing single into a classic — the kind of cut you'll still be bumpin’ 20 years from now. Check it: the steam-pressed synths and disembodied tongue-clicks of "Drop It Like It's Hot" would be lost without Snoop's groove-locked pop hook. "P.I.M.P." gets lifted to another dimension in the Dogg's house, too, as a leash-less Snoop growls alongside G-Unit and a sun-baked steel-drum loop. And then there's the R&B/rap dream team of Snoop and a window-steaming R. Kelly on the slow-grindin’ "That's That S**t," which samples nothing less than the bathtub scene from Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America. Seeing as Snoop's solo tracks are as explosive as a powder keg, but his collaborations can take out an entire zip code, we’ve got plenty more mic-passin’ where that came from.
