To everyone who touched my fresh-person year:

Ive spent a few hours in the creation of something that takes me back to a collection of months that revolutionized the person that I am and the person that I will become. I expect that I am not alone in this experience and Im sure that all of you have spent at least some of your time pining for those whirlwind few months yourselves. Ironically, much of the music of our celebrated history that touched me is a bit gloomy, but I urge you all not to consider it that way. As has been pointed out to us time and time again, everything seems to be a bittersweet symphony and thats sort of what this is. Some of the songs that are on here I didnt even listen to all that frequently during my freshman year, some of the songs that are on here are present specifically for one person, some of them as a collaborative dance party. Who could forget the first time that they witnessed the Pokemon Bitches video? Who can hear Wasting My Time without thinking of Sean dancing and singing in his car? I couldnt get everything onto one CD of course and songs like the Backdraft theme and Mad World (which you all should hear) had to take a back seat to the rest of them. In the end, this is what I came up with (with a little help from our friend Nathan Hamlin), and I hope that somewhere in there you can hear an echo of yourself and remember that incredible and complex buzz that came along with being in South Highland. I miss you all very much and I anticipate September with a mixture of excitement and nerves as I think the rest of us do as well. I hope that your summer is going well.
