Comment:

A no-frills Protest Songs Mix that I took special care to keep it from becoming a Dope Smokin' Mix, which my protest mixes tend to do. The Lou Reed song is probably my favorite by him; the John Prine song was originally recorded in protest of the Vietnam War, but it is equally relevant today as the War Against Terrorism wages on (if not more so). The Hank III song almost doesn't fit, but I put it in there because of a lyric in the Willie Nelson song, "There's always someone quicker, someone faster on the draw, someone who's stepping-up to be the next outlaw.", and I envision Hank III as being that person who is the next outlaw in country music...besides, it (Hank III's song) is about being jailed "even though I never did a crime". I'll close with words my friend Snake left me with, FIGHT THE POWER!!
