Two sets of siblings make up '60s-leaning pop-rock wunder-kids, the Magic Numbers — Romeo and Michele Stodart (who were born in the Caribbean of Portuguese/Scots descent, then raised in New York and London), and Sean and Angela Gannon ¬— and their union is a recipe for bright, breezy, lyrically lovelorn harmony. The band's self-titled debut album appeared in 2005 to a chorus of praise, thanks to the uncontainable sunshine-pop of tracks like "Love Me Like You" and "Forever Lost", while 2006's follow-up, [i]Those the Brokes[/i], changed the pace with a sad, soulful "Undecided" and a folksy "Let Somebody In" (string-backed alternate version included here).
