Comment:

This one grew out of a late night conversation on the aus.culture.gothic newsgroup a few weeks back, which ended with me offering to make a mix CD for a friend on the group who, by her own admission, doesn't know a terrible lot about music. She gave me free rein to put whatever I liked on it, except for a few things she stipulated not to put on it. For educational purposes, then, I decided to restrict myself to some 80s goth and alternative-type stuff, given that's what we kind of have in common (if I make another one for her, I'll have to give her my albums list so she can make requests), and here at last is the result, containing some pretty obscure things she's not likely to have. Plus it was a fine opportunity to get some mp3s off my hard drive and onto a disc as well...

Way to impress the ladies James! Some nice things I'd forgotten about that I may need to dig out for some future mixes.

I like this also. Another one for the trade pile, methinks.

Alas, impressing the ladies doesn't enter into it, as the lady in question already has a significant other. That did make the mix kind of harder, since I had to avoid songs that might've made it look like I was trying to crack on to her. Incidentally, lo-fi, I finally got some of your CDs in the mail the other day, hopefully they'll arrive near you around the end of the week. Gerry, I'll email you shortly as well.

Cool mix James. I actually listened to that March Violets song just the other day, after not hearing it for ages.
