To say P.O.D. was destined for big things from the start is a bit of an understatement. After all, the band managed to move more than 40,000 copies of their first three discs with nothing but the road on their side. (Rescue Records, P.O.D.'s original label, is actually owned by the father of drummer Wuv Bernardo.) It's easy to see why those early songs earned the group a cult following, whether we're talking about the hailstorm hooks of "Know Me," the wobbly, dub-reggae groove of "Full Color," the Metallica-tinged thrash of "Get It Straight" and "Coming Back," or a combustible "Breathe Babylon" jam session.
