Comment:
June 2002: I can't believe AOTM doesn't list "New Wave" as a genre.... My very first CD mix, made in honor of my upcoming college reunion, during which I will be reviving my new wave/classic punk radio show. These songs are among what I would play on the show, or what I would've played if I had these songs at the time.Feedback:
A couple of months ago, I went to pick my sister up from her high school & there was a little (and by little, I mean 15 or so) boy running around in a devo hat thing. Since then, I've heard at least a reference to Devo a week. I smell a comeback.
Devo came back a couple of years ago and played Lollapalooza. And then there's "Beautiful World" in those Target ads. They are so unbelievably underrated.
I know we hear cries of "sellout" all the time from people "protecting" their fave bands, but you've got to admit that allowing Target to cut out the "not me" coda of "Beautiful World" (snapping the neck of its original meaning) is an undeniable/unforgivable example. Love the B-52s' "Orange You Glad It's Summer" ads though. Oh...cool mix. M+M ruled.
ooh i missed thgis one, cool stuff, a lot of memories here,
Cool! Where did you find that Monroes song on CD? I'm doing a San Diego bands mix and would love to use it.
I need that Marbles song- any chance of a trade?
this, too, is really nice - love that bow wow wow
