Comment:

ok, so I was feeling a little sad... the song titles spell out the title of the mix (and the line in an elliott song which is not included on the mix for the sole reason that the phrase does not include the letter 's'.) within the letter boundaries I tried to choose songs that went along with the theme. i'm open to any revisions from liz/elliott fans... i'm not too familiar with their b-sides but if you think something would go better here let me know. enjoy...

Oh Elliott Smith, beseech my poor breaking heart before it burns to ash and blows past where life will start. I think one of his saddest songs is "Needle In the Hay", maybe just because it was used SO well in the Royal Tennenbaums. Nice mix.

I love Elliott Smith when I'm sad - his songs fit my mood, and yet manage to make me happy at the same time. (And Ray, you're right - "Needle in the Hay" was sad enough before that scene in the Tennenbaums, and now.....)

Elliott Smith has some great b-sides and rare tracks. Look for "Angel in the Snow" and "Amanda Cecilia."

And I would probably just slip in "Say Yes" as a hidden track on the end.

I tried something a little similar to this once, flipping between tracks from Jude's "No One Is Really Beautiful" and Fiona Apple's "When the Pawn." Turned out interesting, like two former lovers arguing back and forth why the break-up is the other person's fault.
