Famously touted as the "best unsigned band in Britain" by Steve Lamacq back in 2001, Yorkshire's the Music had plenty to live up to right from the outset . . . and over the course of three albums to date, the outfit has produced some of the land's biggest rock. If you have fists to pump, you might want to clench them now. The opening salvo of "Take The Long Road And Walk It" eschews any prospect of a gentle ramble along the Pennine Way in favour of a Mach 2 riff experience with all afterburners ablaze; second album, [i]Welcome to the North[/i] (2004), gave us — in "Bleed from Within" and the electrifying grinder of a title track — a couple of monumental anthems; and 2008's [i]Strength In Numbers[/i] pulled in Orbital's Paul Hartnoll for added electronic fire.
