Comment:
This cd was made after a discussion at work with some teenagers that were saying how awesome it was at the skate park and that they were playing kick ass music.I asked what they were skating to these days and they replied they were jamming Jimmy eat world and Blink182. I was a little taken back and honestly dismayed because we used to skate to thrash, hardcore and punk in the mid to late 80's (I stoped skateboarding in 89 when we moved & the city has an ordinance against skating) When making the mix I started realizing how heavy my music used to be when digging through my packed away metal discs and also realized how many songs i left off (Prong,Lizzy Borden, early Queensryche, MOD,Danzig the list goes on and on) im already pondering a second disc to follow this one. When re-listening to the mix it did bring back ALOT of wonderful memories though and did make me wonder again how people skate to the newer music out today, the anger and crunch just doesnt seem to be there. Maybe im just getting old....Feedback:
although i never skated, this is also the kind of music i listened to. as far as i'm concerned this beats all those crappy kiddie-punk-bands who seem to be so popular now. good mix!
Ha! I listened to a lot of this stuff then, too, along with stuff that I still love like the Huskers, Minutemen, Descendents, etc. I'll always have a small place in my heart for SOD and the first two ST albums, though I never really skated.
great theme and gnarly mix!
I've never really skated, and was only born in '83, but man, I spent about two years listening to exclusively listening to this type of stuff. I don't listen to Slayer anymore, but "Holiday in Cambodia" is still one of my all-time faves. So much of this is so so familiar.
This should be REQUIRED to be played at every skate park. If this new gen of skaters is listening to Blink and Jimmy eat world to SKATE TO, then I fear for our future. Unbelievable mix.(and 2 (!) suicidal tendencies tracks!)
If I skated, I can def. see myself doing it to this stuff. You can't skate to Jimmy eat World! Hey, I love JEW, but you cant skate to it.
Anyways, this is an awesome mix.

This is a great mix. I'd like to skate to this. I agree how some of the youth of today (not the band!) don't listen to the real shit out there. I love most of the bands on here. jimmy eat world suck. rock on dude.
Skid Row but no D.R.I. or Dayglo Abortions? Tsk tsk. Otherwise, a solid mix.
Excellent choices. I could skate to this, haha. I've been thinking about making a mix of the stuff we used to skate to when I was a teenager in the 90s. Some of the songs on your mix would probably be on mine! We didn't change that much by then, haha.
glenn and mike muir would chew blink up and spit them out. rad mix.
Aw, fuck yeah man! Thanks for telling me to look at this :D Sweetness!
