Jamaican dancehall superstar Capleton — also known variously as King Shango, King David, the Fyaman, and the Prophet — got his big break in Canada, at a 1989 Toronto music festival where he appeared on the bill along with Ninjaman. His return to the island would bring the standout hit "Alms House" and a move away from slackness towards reggae tradition. [i]More Fire[/i] (2000) provided the major releases "Who Dem?" and anti-violence anthem "Jah Jah City". Capleton walks the R&B line, in Next Steps.
