Led by "Evil" Eddie Jacobson, Brisbane hip-hop outfit Butterfingers has — over the course of two wildly entertaining and wittily coarse albums — mixed sharp 'n' cheeky wordsmithery with a mash-and-grab approach to song style. The result, sampled here, is anarchic and never less than wholly addictive: wet your ears with early ice-breakers "Everytime" and "I Love Work" before tucking into several meaty portions from triumphant second album [i]The Deeper You Dig . . .[/i] (2006), including the reggae-metal collision of "Skachase," the jungle-boogified "Get Up Outta the Dirt," and the garage-rockin' "Happy Well Adjusted Psychopath." Yo mama will probably be shocked — but if she's not, Eddie's likely to have a grin on his face.
