Comment:

Les Paul's music, recording techniques, and guitars laid the groundwork for modern music, and everybody's favorite fretboard-fryer has been honored by his disciples ever since. Country guitar giant Chet Atkins recorded a whole album alongside his hero, the dynamic duo combining their awe-inspiring pickin' powers to prove that Les is more on standards like "It Had to Be You." There's no way to dodge the flames when Les trades licks with rock 'n' roll guitar-wrangler Jody Reynolds and country string-slammer Jimmy Bryant on the free-for-all "Fire Fingers." And at the age of 90, Les could still keep up with British blues-rock virtuoso Jeff Beck on a new version of Sam Cooke's "Good News," working in that old, patented studio magic by playing along to the late soul man's original vocal.
