Comment:

A tape of then-uncommon 7- and 12-inchers for my brother Adam (a/k/a Badness). Side one opens with a brilliant mixmastering of a Reagan interview that reveals the true blubbering idiot within (the early '80s -- you had to be there), then goes punky/wavy. Acoustic 'Killer' a boot, R.E.M's first-ever single, two by the lamented Only Ones ('Another Girl' a lost classic), great Wire B-side, two from Richard Hell's first EP (check Robert Quine's peerless guitar freakout ending 'You Gotta Lose') and Television's epochal two-parter. Side two starts with the always-popular Beatle-Stones-Who-Zep parlay ('Memo From Turner' is rare 7-inch version), both sides of rare Kinks holiday special, a Kid Creole (remember him, kiddies?) movie track, some ghostly ska and the Dominoes end it with a bang. For a grab-bag, it hangs together remarkably well.
