Comment:
Besides Belle and Sebastian, this is probably a list of unknown bands. You have probably heard of these bands but never actually listened to them. Most of them are definitely worth checking out.Feedback:
This is awesome! Espec. like tracks 2, 4, 8, 11, 13, and 14. You might include the Chamber Strings, Minders, and of Montreal. You probably like them all, I'm imagining. Man, I really love that High Llamas track.
I'm with Sean in some pix, but hey, one of my all-time fav are here! Tindersticks lovely lovely lovely Another night in!, Great! i have not heard so much Rufus Wainwright but his dad Loudon Wainright is a Fav, esp Album 1 & 2 from the early 70s!
Whadya think, are the Beach Boys and/or Left Banke the fathers of this particular style of music?
'something for the weekend' is a great track, but I like 'alfie' even more... The Divine Comedy are just so great....
if you want 'chamber pop' from the divine comedy, hurry to the first two albums - liberation and promenade are superb. i'd also suggest picking up Scott Walker's Scott 4 album - and 1 -3 as well. oh, and john cale's Paris 1919. and jim o'rourke's Eureka could also fit the genre.
Some beautiful songs on this collection. If K-Tel ever did a chamber pop collection, this is what it should look like.
perhaps unknown to those who think that Nickelcrap is good music...thankfully not all of us feel that way! Nice mix.
Bueno, bueno, bueno!
The ballad of bjorn borg is wake-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-and-gotta-hear-it good. excellent mix!
