Comment:

Plenty of young singer-songwriters cast their dreams into the ether of hope by posting raw, early work on MySpace, but only a handful truly hit the mark — and among the current elite of Web discoveries is Adam Young, a.k.a. Owl City, whose natural shyness and lively imagination quickly produced an online fanbase and ultimately led to the success of Ocean Eyes, from which “Fireflies” was an iTunes Single of the Week. Philadelphia’s Chiddy Bang have made a name for themselves by sampling indie tunes as the basis for their lucid, pop-skewed hip-hop, and there’s no denying the smarts of weaving “Opposite of Adults” around a chunk of MGMT’s “Kids.”
