A few too many weak English imports (Idlewild, JJ72). Not that I dislike the bands, I have albums from most of these musician, maybe an infusion of Clinic or Snow Patrol would do some good. Maybe some of the stuff coming out of XL (Badly Drawn Boy, Alfie, Mull Historical Society).

couple of points to make :)
1-idlewild are scottish, not english, not an appreciated mistake, lol.
2-it was meant to be upbeat to put on at a party, and to fit wround my friends taste.
3-i like most of the bands you suggested, got their stuff, but didnt think they were appropriate for such a tape. although watching Xanadu would have fit in quite well.
