Comment:
At first, this disc didn't have any direction at all until I realized Kylee would need music to keep her busy during her road trip to California. So I put together a bunch of songs either by bands from California or songs that (to me, someone who hasn't been to California) epitomized the California experience, be it positive or negative. So please don't take offense if you live in California and think I have misjudged your lovely state.Feedback:
somebody wrote a song about campbell? that's far out!
phantom planet's "california" would be perfect on here...
Ok- good mix, especially screenwriter's blues, but VU's waiting for MY man is clearly not about Cali. It's about Lou Reed buying drugs in Harlem, and there is no ambiguity about this... "Hey white boy, what you doing uptown?"
Clearly NY.
Clearly NY.
The VU track, I know, is about NY. But drugs are quite a part of the LA lifestyle (or so TV & movies make it out that way), hence the reference. Plus, I think VU fits on any mix.
PS. and it is "Waiting for THE Man".
